Luzon

Luzon, the largest island in the Philippines, is also one of the most diverse: here, mountain peaks and volcanoes meet miles of coastline, and indigenous culture merges with Spanish colonial history. You can relax on the beach in Pagudpud, hike up the Batad rice terraces with the locals, take a horse-drawn carriage ride in Vigan, as well as try street food and dance the night away in Manila. You will need a few days and a bus pass, but you will be glad you stayed.
